Who can imagine a dog as a therapist? Well here is the story of a therapy dog in training where sought out a man at the airport whoโd lost his own pet the day before.
The owner of this special dog, Madison Palm knows her dog Cora has a special talent for sensing when someone needs comforting. But even she was surprised and touched by what happened when Cora approached a man sitting alone at the airport.
The story begins when Madison and Cora were recently flying from their home in Idaho to Alaska to visit Palmโs mother when Cora walked right up to the man and sat at his feet. Madison noticed the man beginning to cry.
This cute dog Cora quietly plopped herself right next to a complete stranger. He gave her scratches, told her how cute she was, and proceeded to take a photo of her. This man was so sad and all of that was because he lost his beloved dog the night before.
Madison says Cora is very empathetic and patient and happy to meet everyone, making her the perfect candidate for a certified therapy dog. She says that she is born to be a therapy dog.
It is just like a given gift from above. . She knows who is hurting and she knows who needs her.
Coraโs compassion may just come from her personal experiences of hardship. Madison, 23, tells TODAY how she rescued Cora from a backyard breeder just a few months before her eighth birthday.
She is just amazed everyday by her, and by her love she gives to everyone who needs her.
